Burke & Redford Orthodontists was established in 1991 by Dr. Burke, with Dr. Redford joining the practice in 2016. Together, they have 30+ years of combined experience providing high-quality orthodontic treatment and belong to some of the most elite professional groups in their field.
Dr. Ryan Redford graduated with honors from the UCLA School of Dentistry. After UCLA, Dr. Redford attended the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontics residency program—earning a Master of Science degree in dentistry from the graduate school. After moving to Southern California, Dr. Redford worked at several San Diego orthodontic practices before joining Dr. Burke in the Temecula Valley. Dr. Redford became a Board-Certified Orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics in 2020. He regularly attends orthodontic continuing education courses and studies the latest advances in orthodontic literature.
Dr. Michael Burke graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After UCLA, he spent a year as a General Practice Resident at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Burke then completed a three-year specialty residency in orthodontics at the University of Alabama – Birmingham (UAB). While at UAB, he also earned a Master of Science degree. After returning to his native California, Dr. Burke worked at several Orange County practices before starting his own orthodontic practice in 1991. In 2001, Dr. Burke earned his American Board of Orthodontics certificate. He continues to attend clinically based continuing education and worked as a faculty member in the UCLA Department of Orthodontics.
Our Clinical Staff
Dr. Burke and Dr. Redford are supported by the practice’s seven clinical staff members, who include five clinical orthodontic assistants, a treatment coordinator, and a records technician.
Orthodontic clinical assistants have many duties, such as taking x-rays and impressions of patients’ teeth, changing out wires and brackets, checking orthodontic devices (such as clear braces and ceramic braces as well as clear aligners), preparing patients for orthodontic procedures, giving oral hygiene instructions, and collaborating with the orthodontists during routine and emergency procedures.
- Our newest clinical orthodontic assistant is Perla, who joined the team in 2020. Perla started as a records technician but has added additional skills quickly. She is a fast learner and well trained. She is working towards completing the requirements to obtain her orthodontic assistant permit. Her funny personality makes her popular with patients of all ages. Perla joins her fellow clinical orthodontic assistants Johanna, Liz, Amy, and Morris.
- Our treatment coordinator, Bristina, is responsible for making treatment affordable and flexible for any budget. She understands insurances, flex-spending accounts, health savings accounts, and third-party financing. She is also an expert at insurance billing.
- Another new staff member is our records technician, Lexi. Patients might see Lexi’s smiling face welcoming new patients into the office or making records. Lexi enjoys getting to know patients while taking x-rays or intra-oral photos and has a unique ability to instantly connect with patients.
Our Administrative Staff
Our office could not function without our administrative staff, which includes a financial coordinator, front desk coordinator, and scheduling coordinator.
Our financial coordinator, Aileen, manages insurance reimbursements to maximize insurance benefits to make patients’ orthodontic treatment more affordable.
Our front desk coordinator, Zabrina, is the smiling face patients see each time they walk in the front door. An expert in computer scheduling, Zabrina has been with the practice for over 20 years.
The newest member of the administrative staff is our scheduling coordinator Anna, who joined the practice in 2020. Anna is another of the friendly faces greeting patients, and she is also the voice you will hear on the telephone when making an appointment. She is upbeat and helps to keep our office running smoothly. With 10+ years of retail experience, Anna is a customer service pro.
